A Modern Farmhouse Christmas in July

Wow, it is already July and that means that it is time for not only my Birthday but….wait for it….Christmas in July! I have to say that I have never really “gotten” this trend as I never start my cards till late October but I know some people like to start getting ideas and inspiration early…. so hopefully, I can help out with a couple of VERY simple ideas for one layer cards with a clean, modern farmhouse feel.

Xmas-July

I love the rustic simplicity of this trend and it really lets the sentiments and messages stand out. I used the small typewriter sentiments from the November 2017 MMH kit and an older Peace and Joy Sentiment set that I had in my stash but linked to two other sets that can be used in a similar way.

I used my Misti to line up the sentiments on the bottom test stamping them on scrap paper before on the front of my card in Sand Hero Arts Cardstock. Then I removed the small script words and stamped them in Pine Bold Ink. I used Versa Mark to Stamp the larger Peace and Joy sentiments and then tucked the pine bough and cones next to it. You can use and Larger Holiday stamps you have this way just simply play with the design of the type on your Misti door and test stamp on scrap.  This does take some time but you can easily mass produce cards this way and re-use the sentiment layout in different ways. Here is another card that I made using ivory cardstock and the sentiments in the middle of the card.

I scored lines parallel to the sentiments for a bit of extra detail and topped it off with some black and white bakers twine and had some Pine green envelopes from my stash.

I hope this inspires you to pick a trend and try something I do think that this has the “Joanna Gaines Look”.
