Altenew Easy Ink Blending Birthday Cards

I wanted to do a quick post on two Altenew cards that I made for the certification program. I have done a lot of ink blending but had mostly used distress ink so trying Altenew crisp inks was new to me. They blended beautifully and I made a Bokeh like backgrounds for both Birthday cards in complimentary colors to the cakes from the Cake Love set and used a few macarons from the Handmade Tags set.

To make the Bokeh backgrounds I used Altenew inks: Ocean Waves, Carribean Sky and Deep Iris, and for the pink and yellow one Warm Sunshine, Peach Perfect and Coral Berry.

I used Zig clean color brush pens to color in the cakes and macarons after white heat embossing them and embossed the front panels and then cut a circular window to show off the pretty colored Altenew ink backgrounds to match.

On the blue one, I embossed the sentiment onto vellum and adhered it behind the cake and raised the cake off of it with foam tape for dimension. I added matching Nuvo drop embellishments and I think I could have added sequins as well but I thought it might be too much so I stopped.

This class had some really nice tips even if you have done alot of ink blending the combinations in the class are really nice. Enjoy.  Lee Ann
