Well Hello June! It is card kit time again and I have to say that I LOVE the stamps inthis kit and think there are a million ways to use them but today I wanted to do some tonal color cards that matched the bright and happy paper colors in this kit. Also, the shapes were simple enough that I could easily cut them out and make some simple masks to use under the ink blending making the negative space for the single color stamping.Lots of stamps will work with this technique but florals are especially good because when you stamp inside the white area it really adds dimension and they do not have to be perfectly lined up. (After making these I tried a different method with the Misti and you can set it up so that it all registers perfectly if you prefer, but…) I liked the overlay of the stamps and ink blending with the irregular borders, mixing with the layers below.
I chose a mix of inks that matched the papers and blended them on nina solar white 110# paper and they blended beautifully. The Hero Arts Hybrid ink blended beautifully with the Ranger Buttered Popcorn yellow and the SSS Island Blue and Scuba also melded into a beautiful shade that really made the white heat embossing pop.
Video is here and on myYou Tube Channel, I could see doing the entire background this way as well and putting the sentiment on the bottom in the white area, lots of Options. I added some Heidi Swapp glitter tape from my stash and some of thedoodlebug sprinkles from the kit to finish it off. If the kit is sold out you
could still make this card and design with supplies you have and just the stamp set.
Check it out and let me know your thoughts. Yay for June! Supplies listed below as always.
See you soon, Lee Ann
