Hero Arts Sea-Horse Color layering Cards

So I feel like Summer is finally on its way, maybe it was a long memorial day at the beach or just all the new summer supplies and the SUN. Anyhow, I had some of the new WOW embossing powder in the glittery”Under the Sea” color and wanted to do colors that were very sand and sea glass colored (my favorites).

Also, I know that everyone is going on about the Misti and it truly is a fabulous product and makes color layering much faster and quicker.  There are many tutorials and give aways out there right now and it is nice to see so many fabulous examples.  My current favorite is Jennifer Mcguires on mirror image stamping here.

So there are a couple of other special details on these cards, I used the new Rose Gold Bangle Ink and bokeh circle from the The Ton Stamps for the  circle behind the Sea Horse and layered over the butter bar shells.

And on the smaller square card with the watery dot background stamp I used some of the teal colored vellum from the My Monthly hero kit for the seaweed and brushed it with wink of stella for a little shimmer.

Hero Arts Sea Horse Color Layering CardThe last card has a distress background ( peacock feathers and tumbled glass )and I put a piece of vellum over the front and embossed the seaweed in white pearl with the seaweed stamps from the Hero Arts goldfish set color layering set,  then I used the all white die cuts with tidepool 2nd generation stamping and embossed with the “under the Sea” or Atlantic Seaspray glitter embossing powder. Both the  Sea Horse and shells really pop, and I like the tonal quality of this card.  I am not sure which of the three, I like the best at this point.  What about you?

Supplies listed below, I gave you some choices to use so you may have something below already to use in your stash, but the idea is a light blue pool or seaglass ink with the sparkle embossing powder on top and using the base layer for the ink and the middle detail layer for sparkly embossing. If you have any questions leave a comment. Now off to the beach!
