So for me challenges have been a struggle time-wise. I always want to do them, and they usually give me some great ideas or a starting place but many times my “real job” the one that pays me takes over and I just cannot fit in making the card in time.
Well, this time Ellen Hutson had a longer challenge, and I am actually early. The inspiration was the image below, and I loved the colors and wanted to play along. There is still time here is the info.
Anyhow, I love those colors and wanted to use my most favorite Essentials by Ellen stamp the Mondo Magnolia. I have used it before but thought it would be perfect to create a layered flower with those hot colors. Sort of like the flower hat on the model’s head.
I ended up making three cards from all of the different colored pieces I made and mixed them up. there are a variety of techniques here as well.
I am not sure which one is my favorite but I think it is the cleanest one on the bottom right or the one that has the textured background on the top, that is embossed metallic paper made with distress ink and perfect pearls, one of my new favorite techniques.
Here is my favorite one alone…I think it needs some small splashes of black in the background or other embellishments but when I looked at them on top it felt like too much. The Hello’s are all covered with glossy accents as well as the centers of the magnolias, and I did add some rock candy glitter to each one around the edge of one layer.
Let me know what card is your favorite. Fingers crossed, see you on PInterest and Instagram. Happy Wednesday- Lee Ann
