I was feeling particularily sunny and in the mood for something sweet  as I started to dig out some supplies and loved theses My FavoriteThings stamps “You’re The Sweetest” so I decided to try a new technique with a gift from a friend. She had given me a set of Faber Castell Stamper’s Big Brush Pens because she knew I was art journalling and was using Gelato’s. She suggested layering them and she showed me some of the things she had been doing with them and I loved them. I have not had time to try them out till this past weekend when I started layering them on the stamps and the results. They have a painterly effect and you can blend the colors together right on the stamp.

The brushstrokes from the markers show up when stamped and the colors overlay each other but what is really great is that they are not water soluable, so you can add Watercolors, Gelato’s or Wink of Stella on top and not dilute the color. Great for building colors.

I really was going for a painterly wet look and after I overlayed the color multiple times I added clear Wink of Stella for the sparkle and wet shine and it did not make the color run…LOVE that! Enjoy- Lee Ann
