Hello! Happy April and finally fun new arrivals from Simon Says Stamp and Hero Arts.
Happy April and finally fun new arrivals from Simon Says Stamp and Hero Arts. I finally received my April Card Kit and was so happy because April and May have the most Birthdays for me, so I love this new kit. Here is the first card I made with the kit, I also made a video of some of the highlights of the process and techniques.
I loved the patterned paper of the gold on the kraft and also loved the beautiful colors of card stock. I used a Simon Says Stamp border die to cut the scalloped frame for the orange panel the white scalloped oval that I embossed with a cuttle-bug Swiss dot folder. It really reminded me of a cake-shop and the white made the cake pop. I also die cut the cake plate, cake, and candles from a hero arts stamp and cut die and then applied glossy accents to the cake plate and lit part of the candles, I love how the cake stand looks like it is glass and the flames are 3-d.
Also, I am crazy for the Hero Arts Ombre Ink Pads right now and used them to stamp over the little die cut candles. I am going to do a few more of this card design for the upcoming birthdays…so much fun!
Process Video is on my YouTube channel here and the supplies are listed below, if you can afford it, get the set of ombre ink pads otherwise go with just the orange, pink and green, they matched the SSS April kit’s cardstocks so perfectly. I guarantee you will use them all.
I am also going to try to foil that sentiment onto another card using a new technique using Deco foil and a laminator, I will be back to tell you how it goes with some more cards and images. Enjoy! Please share any comments or questions.
Make some wishes, Lee Ann
